The Periodic Table of Elements
In the 1800's, a man by the name of Dmitri Mendeeleev created the first periodic table. In 1860, Mendeleev started to think about how he was going to list the elements. He organized the elements by their physical and chemical properties. He arranged the rows by their atomic mass. In 1869, he created the first periodic table.
Elements and compounds are everywhere. They make up things we see everyday, some we don't even see. Some every day compounds are salt, water, sugar and hydrogen peroxide. Some elements we see everyday are potassium, hydrogen and oxygen.
Elements play a big role in compounds. A compound is made up of elements. Without elements, there probably would be no compounds. Compounds and elements make up basically everything in the world.
